TT&H Attorney Sarah Arosell wins defense verdict in Dauphin County death case.
November 29, 2018
Attorney Sarah Arosell recently won a defense jury verdict in Dauphin County. The action concerned claims for wrongful death and survival filed by the son of an elderly patient who allegedly died as a result of a negative reaction to heart medication prescribed by the decedent’s longtime family physician. After uncovering that Plaintiff’s expert had participated in seminars on “How to be a Better Expert Witness,” and with the help of the testimony of the client-physician and well-credentialed experts in family medicine and cardiology, Sarah successfully rebutted plaintiff’s theory that the prescribed drug was contraindicated in a patient with a history of bradycardia and severe renal impairment. After the jury unanimously found Sarah’s client to be without fault, the plaintiff unexpectedly shook the client-doctor’s hand and said “no hard feelings doc, my mother loved you.”
