TT&H Attorney Jack D. Lapidus Completes Term as President of DCDLA
November 02, 2023
Jack Lapidus recently completed a term as the President of the DC Defense Lawyers’ Association (“DCDLA”). Prior to serving as President, Jack served as the DCDLA’s Vice President. Jack will now join TT&H Managing Partner, Ben Peoples, on the organization’s Board of Directors for a four-year term.
The DCDLA is the preeminent professional organization for defense lawyers in Washington, DC. It provides opportunities for continuing education, networking, and interfacing with the judiciary, and serves as the voice of the interests of DC’s defense bar. The DCDLA is a State and Local Defense Organization for the Defense Research Institute (“DRI”), which is the largest international membership organization of attorneys defending the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation. At the conclusion of Jack’s term, DRI awarded him with an Exceptional Performance Citation “for having supported and improved the standards and education of the defense bar, and for having contributed to the improvement of the administration of justice in the public interest.”
Jack joins a list of five TT&H attorneys who have led State and Local Defense Organizations, including Pete Speaker (a partner in the Harrisburg office), Lou Long (a partner in the Pittsburgh office), Monica O’Neill (a partner in the Philadelphia office), all of whom led the Pennsylvania Defense Institute at various points in the past, and, most recently, Ben Peoples who served as President of the DC Defense Lawyers’ Association. Jaymie-Dodd-o, TT&H’s Chief Executive Partner, commented: “We pride ourselves on being leaders of the defense bar, and we are pleased that Jack has continued that tradition.”
Jack is a partner in the Washington, DC office where he is a member of the firm’s general liability practice group.
