Thomas, Thomas & Hafer Welcomes Joanne J. Lee to the Washington, DC Office

Thomas, Thomas & Hafer is pleased to announced that Joanne J. Lee has joined the firm as an associate in the Washington, DC office.  Joanne handles various civil litigation matters.  She focuses primarily on personal injury cases, including auto and premises liability, as well as construction defect and other general liability matters.  Joanne is admitted to practice in the federal and state courts for both the District of Columbia and Maryland.

Prior to joining Thomas, Thomas & Hafer, Joanne was a Senior Associate at another firm in Washington, D.C., where she handled a variety of personal injury matters.  In 2023, she was selected as one of Washington, D.C.’s “Top 40 Under 40” by The National Trial Lawyers.  Joanne graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law in Maryland, where she developed a passion for trial work, serving as a member of the National Trial Competition team and actively participating in different trial advocacy classes.  Joanne also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Barry G. Williams of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, and at the Office of Special Masters within the United States Court of Federal Claims.  In her last year of law school, she worked as a student attorney at the Office of the Public Defenders in Baltimore City District, assisting with criminal cases for defendants with limited income.  She simultaneously worked as a law clerk at a mid-sized civil litigation firm in Baltimore, assisting with various automobile accident, products liability, and medical malpractice cases.  Joanne obtained her undergraduate degree from George Mason University, where her studies focused on criminology, law and society.
