Thomas, Thomas & Hafer LLP Welcomes a New Attorney, Toi M. Mason, in Joining the Firm’s Law Practice

April 2nd, 2018 – Thomas, Thomas & Hafer LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Toi M. Mason as a new attorney to our firm. Ms. Mason is an Associate in the Baltimore office of Thomas, Thomas & Hafer and focuses her practice in the area of Workers’ Compensation Law.

Ms. Mason comes to TT&H from the Office of the State’s Attorney for Baltimore City. While there, Toi would investigate cases to determine whether indictment was appropriate, collect evidence sufficient to ensure successful prosecution, interview witnesses to thoroughly prepare for trial and provide discovery to opposing counsel in compliance with the Rules. Toi engaged in plea negotiations with opposing counsel as an alternative resolution to trial, presented cases to the grand jury, provided coverage for the arraignment and collateral dockets, prepared motions involving in-depth legal analysis and participate in various pre-trial hearings, including motions hearings and status conferences. Ms. Mason handled post-conviction matters, attended trainings to remain up-to-date in the current changes in law/practices, conducted legal research involving various legal issues, prepared and delivered opening statements, closing arguments, and rebuttal arguments as well as ensuring the successful prosecution of felony violent crimes in Baltimore City.

Before joining the Office of the State’s Attorney for Baltimore City, Toi clerked for the Honorable Shannon E. Avery drafting judicial opinions, in-depth analysis and application of legal authority, drafting judicial orders in response to motions filed by counsel and pro se defendants. Ms. Mason also was a Judicial Law Clerk for the District Court of Maryland for Baltimore City.
