TT&H Attorney Ryan Stanley Wins Dismissal of Invasion of Privacy Suit

June 04, 2021

On May 27, 2021, TT&H Attorney Ryan Stanley won the dismissal of a suit pending before the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.  The Plaintiff had sued a property developer for invasion of privacy after a patio was constructed such that it allegedly allowed occupants of the patio to look into the Plaintiff’s bathroom through her skylight.  The property developer filed a third party complaint for indemnity and contribution against the general contractor who had constructed the building for the property developer.  Representing the general contractor, Ryan won a dismissal of the entire case by persuading the Court that it lacked jurisdiction over the matter because the local zoning board had approved the patio design.
