Harrisburg, PA – On October 8th Thomas, Thomas & Hafer, LLP held its 19th annual Workers’ Compensation seminar. The event was held “live” at the Country Club of Harrisburg, coupled with remote participation by clients all across the country.
The event featured a keynote presentation by Dr. D. Kelly Agnew, a renowned orthopedist, who educated the attendees on shoulder and knee injuries and the effects of aging, a topic of great interest to all.
Another featured speaker was United States Steel’s Anita Ellis, Esquire, who concisely updated the audience on significant pending legislation affecting the field of workers’ compensation. Ms. Ellis’s annual presentations have proven to be a perennial favorite.
Chris Scott and Marjorie Moreno of the firm’s Harrisburg office provided insight into the impact of medical marijuana legislation on employment practices and workers’ compensation claims. Attorneys Burke McLemore, Jim Tinnyo and Mike Bliley covered the timely topic of COVID-19: issues surrounding vaccination, prevention, treatment and the aftermath of COVID-19 on the workplace. As in years past, firm members addressed important and controlling cases issued by the appellate courts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
The year 2022 will mark our 20th annual event, and is slated for the first week of October, 2022.
