OVERVIEW

No other area of the law touches upon more—and more varied—legal and ethical topics than does workers’ compensation, and therefore no other practice area is better suited to deal with the interface between tort law, employment practice law and motor vehicle law. In 1977, Professor Richard Epstein wrote: “The massive volume of cases decided under the workmen’s compensation statutes alone gives us sufficient reason to subject them to detailed analysis and scrutiny. Yet the entire topic is all too often treated as a mysterious and arcane branch of the law that refuses to yield any of its mysteries in an academic setting.” At TT&H, our workers’ compensation group takes the “mystery” out of the equation.

Attorneys in our Workers’ Compensation Practice Group represent employers, carriers, agents and brokers throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and District of Columbia. We guide our clients through the complex web of workers’ compensation laws and regulations, manage subrogation lien recoveries and connect the dots between workers’ compensation and other workplace related issues.

We routinely appear before all relevant state and federal administrative agencies and departments, as well as in the state and federal courts throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and District of Columbia. Though our network of offices we are able to offer statewide coverage before all tribunals in each of these jurisdictions. Our work has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report, which named our group a “best” in the category of workers’ compensation practice.

This practice group complements and supplements TT&H’s Employment Law, Subrogation and Insurance Coverage Practice Groups, giving us the expertise to effectively handle the entire gamut of coverage and employment-related issues. Our work encompasses not only trial and appellate representation, but also risk management and risk avoidance advice, reserving, insurance policy interpretation, and representation of clients trying to secure self-insured status.

With well over 400 years of combined experience, our team has the expertise to efficiently evaluate claims and provide our clients with an early assessment of exposure. By identifying matters that require prompt disposition, we are able to concentrate the use of our clients’ valuable resources on matters that truly deserve to be tried—and won. Our reputation with the tribunals before which we practice is unparalleled, so we encourage you to simply ask any judge in your area about us.
