TT&H Attorney Jamie DeSisto Wins Jury Verdict in Maryland Workers’ Compensation Appeal

TT&H attorney Jamie DeSisto prevailed in a jury trial on the Employer’s appeal from a decision of the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission to the Circuit Court, successfully arguing that the prior decision of the Commission was incorrect on the issue of causation of and entitlement to temporary total disability and medical treatment, including back surgery.

Through the use of surveillance, social media evidence, and expert testimony, Ms. DeSisto was able to convince a jury that intervening events, accidents, activities severed the chain of causation between the work injury and the need for back surgery.  This victory resulted in overall savings on the case in excess of $300,000.00.  The Settlement demand prior to trial was $365,000.00.
