TT&H Attorney Lacey Conn Wins Defense Verdict in Premises Liability Action

In connection with a recent four-day jury trial in Prince William County, Virginia, Attorney Lacey Conn won a defense verdict for her clients, an apartment complex and management company.  The suit concerned a slip and fall incident on the grounds of the apartment complex.

Plaintiff apparently fell after encountering a yard drain.  She alleged that the common areas of the apartment were negligently maintained, in that the grass was too long and the lighting was inadequate, both of which prevented her from seeing the drain.  At trial, Lacey disputed the alleged negligence, while also claiming contributory negligence and assumption of the risk on the part of Plaintiff.

The jury returned a defense verdict for her clients after just over an hour of deliberations.
